The concept of furniture design based on the concept of magic incorporates elements that evoke a sense of wonder, enchantment, and a transformative experience within the space. It draws inspiration from the idea that furniture has the power to create a magical atmosphere and influence emotions. In terms of psychology, the concept of magic in furniture design often taps into the principles of environmental psychology and human perception. It focuses on creating a sensory experience that engages users on multiple levels, triggering positive emotions and enhancing their overall well-being.

The design concept of a space that integrates Chiharu Shiota’s art and intangible cultural heritage puppet shows aims to create a captivating and immersive environment that revitalizes traditional puppetry within a contemporary context. Chiharu Shiota’s evocative installations, characterized by her use of intricate webs and threads, provide a visually stunning backdrop that symbolizes the interconnectedness of cultural narratives. Within this space, intangible cultural heritage puppet shows take center stage, showcasing the craftsmanship and storytelling traditions of the art form.  By blending Shiota’s contemporary artistry with the time-honored puppetry, this concept seeks to honor and preserve intangible cultural heritage while creating an engaging and thought-provoking experience for visitors.

The design concept of the children’s reading and screening space in the form of terraces revolves around the idea of “no pain no gain”. By utilizing terraces as a design element, the space metaphorically represents the journey of climbing and progressing through effort and dedication. The terraces were be designed as ascending levels and steps, symbolizing the gradual progress that comes with perseverance. Each terrace features different reading areas, creating a sense of exploration and discovery for children.

Inspired by Louis Kahn’s art of shaping spaces around ritual, this Hope Primary School reading room design project combines classical elegance with functional design. And the concept of concentration and decentralization is incorporated into the design to meet the needs of children of different ages and personalities, creating an inspiring space for students to stimulate creativity and academic growth. Inspired by minimalism, the clean space layout and neutral tones create a peaceful and warm reading and meeting space. By providing students with a comfortable, elegant and diverse learning environment, this design project aims to foster a love of knowledge and a lasting motivation to learn.
